The fifth festival of queer and feminist culture Smoqua is just about to start! This year, Smoqua is being held from October 7 to 9 in Rijeka, bringing together activists and artists from more than 10 European countries (United Kingdom, Greece, Serbia, France ...). A handful of content awaits you: performances, exhibitions, discussions, workshops, lectures ...

We are especially excited to announce the Queer-UP! Party that takes place at OKC Palach on Saturday, October 9 from 8 pm, and the line-up is "hot":

We are ready for the 5th Smoqua, are you?!

With our hearts full, we are announcing the 5th edition of Smoqua, the festival which will win you over with its diverse content, inspiring people and warm atmosphere. LORI, with partners PaRiter and GSG, invites all persons of good will, and open mind and heart to join us in the new edition of joint reflection, conversation, socialising and fun from Thursday, 7 October, to Saturday, 9 October 2021 in Rijeka.

Talks @Smoqua 2020: researches and interesting discussions

As part of this year's Smoqua, which will be held in Rijeka from October 15th to 17th, besides from entertaining and artistic content, you can join a discussion on the human rights of LGBTI people in Europe and Croatia and one on women's experiences in the visual industry.

Within this year's Smoqua festival, which will take place in Rijeka from October 15th to 17th, art organisation From the Citizens to Their City presents interesting art projects and artist talks that you can follow through the festival program.

On the first day of the festival, on October 15th, from 19.00 till 20.00, join us on a project presentation AIDS – Based on a True Story. Vladimir Čajkovac, curator, will present the research underpinning exhibitions held at the Hygiene Museum in Dresden and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum in Geneva.

Queer Tango at Smoqua 2020

You always wanted to learn tango, but not the "classical" one? Join us for queer tango with the support of the Flame dance group at the opening of the Smoqua festival on October 15th from 14.00 o'clock, Korzo street (near City Hall). Dancer and choreographer Damian Cortes Alberti prepared a special video so we can all learn basic steps.
