Creating a working environment in which every person is equal and has equal opportunities for success not only is ethically right and socially responsible, but also brings many benefits to employers. Diversity and inclusion in the workplace result in more innovation, increased productivity and better quality of products and services. Research has shown that companies that include different perspectives and experiences in their business decision-making processes achieve better results than those that do not embrace diversity. When employees have equal opportunities for work and promotion, they feel appreciated and more motivated, which increases their job satisfaction and productivity. We started our work in the area by carrying out the  <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lori.hr\/en\/lgbti-ravnopravnost-na-radnom-mjestu\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Alliance For LGBTI Workplace Equality<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> project, within which we conducted two studies on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lori.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/LGBTI_rezultati_istrazivanja_2017.pdf\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0the equality of LGBTI people in the workplace<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0in Croatia. The first focused on anti-discriminatory policies and practices in the workplace relating to LGBTI people and included more than 400 Croatian employers as participants; the other was about LGBTI people\u2019s experiences in the workplace.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0394624 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"0394624\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2c85c3d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2c85c3d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The results of the research show that there are great differences in the awareness and the experiences of employers and of LGBTI employees in relation to the research topics. One of the biggest differences is that many employers think that there are no LGBTI people among their staff and that this is not an issue they should address, yet the research results indicate that the majority of LGBTI people do not dare to be open in the workplace about their sexual orientation and\/or gender identity, and that 75% of them experience workplace discrimination, which they do not report for fear of even more negative consequences.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-72e9e01 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"72e9e01\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ca255aa elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"ca255aa\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-410b625 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"410b625\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"translation-block\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And while employers in the western European countries, America and Australia have recognised the importance of ensuring equal working conditions and working environment for all of their employees and are investing time and money to ensure that there is inclusion in the workplace, in Croatia, this awareness has just started emerging.
