The Festival of Queer and Feminist Culture Smoqua<\/a> has, for nine years now, shown that culture and activism can intertwine with sustainability, community care, and plenty of fun. From October 9 to 11, 2025,<\/strong> Rijeka will host a rich program<\/a> that goes far beyond workshops, talks, and artistic content \u2013 expanding into all those practices that make Smoqua what it is: responsible, inclusive, and above all, rebellious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smoqua loves nature! \ud83c\udf0d That\u2019s why, in cooperation with H\u017d Passenger Transport,<\/strong> we\u2019re offering a 40% discount on return train tickets if you\u2019re coming from Croatia or Slovenia (for distances of 25+ km). Our posters and flyers are always printed by Adria Print<\/strong><\/a> on recycled paper. If you spot one on the ground, pick it up \u2013 every small step makes a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smoqua brings people, ideas \u2013 and, of course, tastes \u2013 together! This year you can once again enjoy Tudor wines and Smokvica and Fiumanka liqueurs, warming up our gatherings. <\/a>\ud83c\udf38<\/strong> Breaking Taboos<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our fight includes subjects that have been silenced for too long. At the festival booth we\u2019ll be sharing Intimina<\/strong><\/a> menstrual cups,<\/strong>, because we want to reduce period poverty and speak openly about health. And thanks to LELO\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>, we\u2019ll also be giving away intimate products that help us talk about sexuality without shame or stigma. <\/a>\ud83c\udff3\ufe0f\u200d\ud83c\udf08<\/strong> Inclusion in Action<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Part of the Smoqua program is dedicated to work, rights, and safe, inclusive spaces. Representatives of institutions, associations, and employers will talk about the policies they implement, with IKEA<\/a><\/strong> and Decathlon<\/a><\/strong> joining us to talk about how they build communities where everyone can feel accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
