The grand 10th edition of Festival of Queer and Feminist Culture Smoqua<\/strong><\/a>, taking place from October 1 to 3, 2026 in Rijeka<\/strong>, presents the exhibition \"Lines of Resistance\"<\/strong> produced by K-zone<\/strong> from Zagreb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From autobiographical and queer narratives, through socially engaged illustrations and posters, to scenes of everyday life and personal visual worlds, the exhibited works explore the ways images can bear witness to experiences, build community, and shape different perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the Fierce Beez network<\/strong> \u2013 Rina Barbari\u0107, Ivana Ge\u010dek, Korin Hunjak, and Helena Jane\u010di\u0107<\/strong> \u2014explore the spaces between the personal and political, the intimate and public, through illustration, design, comics, and posters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Works bear witness to personal experiences, build community, and offer societal critique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibited works will be available for purchase in agreement with the artists.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Artists:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helena Jane\u010di\u0107<\/strong> is a painter and comic artist. Through painting, illustration, and comics, she focuses on depicting everyday queer life and its intimate moments, as well as reimagining queer history by adding fiction where stories were left untold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Korin Hunjak<\/strong> is an award-winning illustrator, comic artist, and designer whose work is characterized by humanizing narratives and the exploration of graphic drawing. He is also active as a comic editor for zines and magazines and an organizer of various events aimed at promoting awareness of comic culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ivana Ge\u010dek<\/strong> is a comic artist, illustrator, and member of the international comic collective The Random Factor Comics<\/strong>. In her work, she deals with topics of feminism, pop culture, and everyday life, expressing them through humour and vibrant colours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rina Barbari\u0107<\/strong> is a visual artist from Kostrena who lives and works in Zagreb. Through her work, she explores sexuality, strength, vulnerability, social inequalities, and the intricate threads that connect them. Today, she works as an illustrator and graphic designer while developing her own art projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
