Project \u2018Supporting Inclusive Education - Building a Safe Future\u2019<\/strong> is conducted by Project Coordinator Lesbian Organisation Rijeka \u2013 LORI and partner organisations Rainbow Families and Norsensus Mediaforum (Norway) from January 2021 until end of February 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project is worth 129.600,00 \u20ac, ensured through financial support of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway as part of the EEA Grants 2014 \u2013 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The overall goal of the project<\/strong> is to strengthen democratic culture and civic awareness by reducing homo\/bi\/transphobia in the education and to improve the position of LGBTIQ youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project specific objectives <\/strong>are: 1. To build the capacity of CSOs and educational institutions to combat homo\/bi\/ transphobia in education and to implement education on human rights of LGBTI people;\n2. To provide support and empower LGBTIQ youth and\n3. To strengthen the advocacy position of CSOs in order to improve public policies and programmes and the effective protection of children and youth in the education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Target groups <\/strong>are: youth, LGBTIQ youth, school professionals, educational institutions, civil society organisations (CSOs), government institutions and general public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project contributes to building the capacity of civil society organisations (CSOs) and educational institutions to implement LGBTI human rights education and encourages cross-sectoral cooperation in the implementation of human rights education. It also increases young people's awareness of civic activism and strengthens their capacity for social action and involves them in the work of civil society organisations. Through various project activities, a mechanism of systematic support to LGBTI youth as a multiple vulnerable group is created, in their coping with social stigma, violence and discrimination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately, the project \u2018Supporting Inclusive Education - Building a Safe Future\u2019 results in a strengthened advocacy position of civil society organisations towards developing a dialogue and cooperation with government institutions in order to influence policy changes, implement programmes and standards to combat homo\/bi\/transphobia and discrimination in the education system, and create a secure environment for LGBTI youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
