Roses Against Violence: Crochet Workshops at LORI

Dear community,

Since the crochet workshop in early summer was a hit, we decided to continue hanging out with our crochet hooks.

As part of the project "Roses Against Violence: Textile Activism in Public Space", throughout September we will hold two crochet workshops at LORI, and we invite everyone to join us in making roses that we will be handing out on November 25th on Korzo, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The workshops will take place at the following times:

Tuesday, September 8th, and Tuesday, September 15th at 18:00 at LORI.

If you love crocheting, are interested in getting involved in your community, human rights, and gender-based violence – join us for a little chat and crochet in a safe and comfortable environment.

Although the workshop is primarily intended for people who already know how to crochet, the doors are, of course, wide open for anyone who just wants to learn. All materials for the workshop are provided, and participation is free of charge.

The workshop is led by Roberta Grdaković, a newly joined LORI volunteer and a huge crochet enthusiast.

In this project are also our collaborators: SOS Rijeka – Center for Nonviolence, HKD na Sušaku, and Anita Ladišić, educator and textile artisan/artist. You can find out more about the project itself here.

The project was supported by the SOLIDARNA Foundation through the Culture in the Community program.
