Do you live in Rijeka or the surrounding area, and are you interested in organizing community events, queer and feminist culture, human rights, and contributing to a more equal society?
The anniversary 10th edition of the Festival of Queer and Feminist Culture Smoqua is taking place in Rijeka from October 1 to October 3, 2026, and we're looking for reinforcements!!
How can you get involved?
→ distributing flyers and posters: Help us spread the word about Smoqua across Rijeka, Croatia, the region, and beyond. With a bit of walking in groups and good energy, together we can reach even more people and those who lack LGBTIQ+ contents.
→ meet & greet: Welcome guests from other places, help them find their way around, and ensure they feel like a part of the Smoqua community from the moment they arrive.
→ shift during events: Whether it's the info-point, an exhibition, or the Queer-UP! Party, you can be part of the informing crew that manages entrances and ensures everything runs smoothly.
→ Venue Preparation: Participate in setting up and preparing the venues before, during, and after festival activities.
→ Safety & Care Crew: It’s essential to us that everyone feels safe, comfortable, and accepted at Smoqua. This team is dedicated to community care and ensuring a pleasant and safe environment for the entire Smoqua community.
What do you get out of volunteering?
✨ New knowledge, skills, and the opportunity to meet new people and the queer community
✨ Logging of volunteer hours in your volunteer booklet (certificate of volunteering)
✨ An unforgettable experience, hopefully – being part of a great team, and plenty of fun in a safe and welcoming atmosphere
You don't need prior experience or unlimited free time — we're looking for responsibility, teamwork, and good intentions. Every contribution is precious to us! 🌈

Send us an email at no later than September 9, 2026.
Please include: your name, age, whether you live in Rijeka, your phone number, at least one sentence about why you want to join the Smoqua crew, and which activities you're applying for.😊
