The ninth edition of the Festival of Queer and Feminist Culture Smoqua from October 9 to 11 brings several artistic events that inspire us to reflect on love, freedom, and resilience, while also placing queer experiences under the spotlight on stage.
In this spirit, this year’s Smoqua hosts the award-winning play Infinite Archive #1 Unstoppable! , which will take place on Thursday, October 9 at 20:30 (Palach, Kružna 8).
This documentary performance and installation was created as the result of a three-month research process in Zagreb, in collaboration between Croatian and Argentine artists. The starting point of the project are diverse stories from the lives of the LGBTIQ+ community, touching on identities as well as the unstoppable natural and social forces that shape and define us.
Four artists from different artistic disciplines share their personal worlds, offering the audience a unique multidisciplinary experience that merges a photography exhibition with live performance – including performance art, music, acting, drag, and video materials.
The director of the play, Argentine audiovisual and stage artist Gonzalo Quintana, is known for his innovative forms and internationally recognised works, and this project continues his exploration of contemporary modes of representation.
