Here are few opportunities for mingling:

Get Involved: Youth for Youth¹

Thursday, October 9th, 14.30 – 15.15

📍 Palach, Kružna 8

How can young people spark positive changes in their communities? At Smoqua, we believe that youth voices are not only the future, they are the driving force of the present. That’s why we invite you to share your ideas for activism, creativity, and solidarity on our Youth Tiramol, a playful nod to our traditional clothesline used for drying laundry outdoors, now transformed into a line of imagination, courage, and action.

Through this collective installation, your proposals and visions will become part of a living tapestry of community care. Alongside this, you’ll hear inspiring stories of how queer youth in Rijeka, Pula, Zagreb and other places are organising, creating safe spaces, and building solidarity networks.

We’re also joined by Amina Imamović from the Sarajevo Open Centre, who will share insights into how queer youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina connect, empower, and fight for visibility and rights in challenging contexts.

Come and add your own “piece of laundry” to the Tiramol – together we can air out old prejudices and hang up fresh ideas for a more inclusive tomorrow. 🌈

Queer Mystery1

Thursday, October 9th, 15.00 – 17.00

📍 Start: Palach, Kružna 8

Join our live, campy mystery game where you become a queer detective, roaming the festival to interrogate flamboyant suspects, complete silly challenges, and piece together clues. Solve the case and claim your prize! The game is created and led by Alex Katunar, a long-term LORI volunteer and game enthusiast.

Queer Hobby Tea Party

Saturday, October 11th, 14.00 – 17.00

📍 Palach/in front of Palach, Kružna 8

Relaxed tea time hangout and chat about hobbies with Korin Hunjak, comic author and illustrator. Bring whatever you need for your hobbying (e.g., for knitting, playing music, gaming, creative crafting, etc.) and inspire others with your enthusiasm! In a laid-back conversation, we'll exchange experiences and maybe even adopt a new hobby or two.

Entire festival programme can be found here.

¹The activities are part of the project RiAct – Youth for Justice, funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme.
