From October 1 to 3, 2026, Rijeka will once again become a gathering place for queer and feminist culture, art, and activism—and this year, we’re celebrating 10 years of the festival 🎉
Over the years, Smoqua has grown and evolved, but the values that drive and guide us remain the same. Togetherness, non-violence, equality, solidarity, and environmental care are woven into everything we do and stand for.
💚 Sustainability & Caring for Our Planet
Smoqua loves nature, which is why we always consider how to provide sustainable travel options to Smoqua and what footprint we leave behind.
Together with HŽ Passenger Transport, we’re encouraging you to travel to Smoqua by train as a greener way to get here. Even better: you can get 40% off your return ticket if you’re travelling by train from Croatia or Slovenia (for a trip of 25 km or more). All you need to do is mention that you're attending Festival Smoqua when purchasing your ticket, and get it stamped with the LORI stamp at our info point!
We also care about what stays behind after the festival. Our posters and flyers are printed by Adria Print - huge thanks to them— using recycled paper. We strive to print mindfully, use materials responsibly, and reuse whatever we can.
🍇 Local, Sustainable, and Full of Flavor
Smoqua loves bringing people, ideas, and the local community together—including flavors!
Our gatherings will once again be enriched by Davor Tudor and Suza T.B. liqueurs, as we believe in supporting local producers who share our values, just as they believe in us.
🌸 Openness and Breaking Stigmas
Sexuality, the body, pleasure, and sexual health are part of life—and we should be able to discuss them openly and without shame. Breaking taboos begins with open and informed dialogue, and thanks to INTIMINI and LELO, we’ll be giving away free menstrual cups and intimate accessories!
🏳️🌈 Inclusion and Support in Action
Equality is built every single day—in workplaces, institutions, organizations, schools, sports, and every space we inhabit.
That’s why it’s essential for us to connect with organizations and employers actively working to create inclusive and safe environments. Joining us this year is the Decathlon team, who will be sharing their experiences and amazing products in Smoquagrad—don’t miss out!

Thank you for standing with us for all 10 years, and see you soon! <3
