Not Just Numbers

Lesbian Organisation Rijeka – LORI participated as a partner organisation in the Erasmus+ project ‘Not just Numbers’. Four LORI activists have attended this international youth worker mobility project aimed at strengthening cooperation and developing capacity of youth organisations in dealing with migration and asylum issues.

Eight-day training was organized by CSO StepEurope and carried out in Turku (Finland) from 7th to 15th of December, 2017. Training involved 30 participants from 7 Erasmus+ Programme countries - Finland, UK, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Hungary and Romania. The project is a training of trainers, based on non-formal methods and experiential learning such as small group work, team-building activities, multimedia presentations, role play and social theatre.
The main project aim is to improve the quality of local activities in the fields of migration and asylum awareness conducted by consortium members in their countries.

Specific project objectives are:

  • To facilitate exchange of expertise on approaches to migration and asylum education in youth work
  • To train youth workers in using education tools developed by UNHCR and the Red Cross (‘Not Just Numbers’ and ‘Positive Images’)
  • To promote international cooperation and networking between youth organisations
