Just for you @Smoqua 2023: Štand out, public action and important panels

Smoqua has always been a space for exchanging new ideas, knowledge and for opening dialogues with the community. This year, from October 12th to 14th, you too can leave a mark at the 7th Festival of Queer and Feminist Culture and get to know a multitude of organisations dedicated to human rights. Additionally, you can try to make badges, print on shirts or contribute to discussions during panels and conversations.

On the first day of the festival, Thursday, October 12th, at the festival gathering place OKC Palach (Kružna 8), all of the above awaits you – take a look! 😊

Panel: Do we feel safe in public spaces? // 17:00 – 18:00 // OKC Palach, Kružna 8

Facilitator Silvia Casalino from EuroCentralAsian Lesbian* Community will talk to Tatjana Nikolić (Serbia), who has worked for many years on prevention of gender-based violence and trafficking, and KUN representative (Norway), Marianne Gulli. This panel aims to open up the issue of safeness in public spaces when we talk about different identity experiences, so this is a great opportunity to join discussion in community.

Public action: Free hugs for all // 18:00 – 19:00 // Inside and in front of OKC Palach, Kružna 8

A joint action of LORI and Ljubljana Pride youth for (queer) youth, but also for everyone at the festival. We celebrate love, togetherness and support.

Zine & Guidelines presentation – On dance floor policies: Q+ Security (HR/CL) // 20:00 – 21:00 // OKC Palach, Kružna 8

Within their eponymous project, Q+ Security, an initiative for safe and inclusive clubbing, will present guidelines for clubs that are designed to make them safer and more inclusive. The guidelines are based on research done before Smoqua.

„When you think it's the end, there's an encore!" 😊 See you!
