Do you want to contribute to your community, learn more about festival organisation, and are you interested in human rights and being part of a great team? Then Smoqua is the perfect place for you: we invite you to join us through volunteering. Festival of Queer and Feminist Culture Smoqua takes place this year from October 12th to 14th on several locations in Rijeka. Through a multitude of events, it offers an opportunity to connect with various artists and activists from across Europe.

You can engage in following activities:
Leaflet and Poster DistributionAs you return home from uni, school, or work, put up a few leaflets or posters to ensure that information about the festival reaches as many people as possible. It would be a shame for anyone to miss out on Smoqua, wouldn't it? 😊
Meet&greet: It's important that everyone at Smoqua feels safe, which is why we look out for each other and our festival guests. This includes welcoming participants from other cities and countries, providing support while they are in the City that Flows.
Volunteering on events: This is the best way for making new friendships and connections. There's the grand finale of the festival: the Queer-UP party! and an information booth that requires responsible, warm, and communicative individuals to keep everything under control.
Space Preparation: Preparing the event spaces (before and after the events): typically arranging tables, chairs, and decorations.
What is expected of you?
Responsibility, creativity, a positive attitude, selflessness, motivation, punctuality! Consider how much time you want and can dedicate. It's essential that everyone on the team keeps their commitments.
What do you gain from volunteering?
Connecting with the community, gaining new experiences, knowledge, and having fun in meeting new people and various organisations. Volunteering is an opportunity for personal development, self-empowerment, improvement, and the cultivation of your potentials. If you like the experience, you can always continue volunteering in LORI and/or PaRiter. 😉 Additionally, all volunteers have their volunteer hours and experiences recorded in a volunteer log.
